Ashleigh Toshack. I
developed my passion for dance at the tender age of five. By the time I
was 6 or 7 years old I had tread the boards as the young Chelsea in the
Theatre production of On Golden Pond and been on a film set with Kate Winslet
(Jude the Obscure). I gained extensive dance and acting experience all
through my childhood with the Scottish Ballet, Edinburgh Acting School,
Jazz Art UK and the Royal Lyceum Youth Theatre. Later in my teens, I had
the opportunity to be taught by choreographer/director Allan Greg of the
X factor Dance Company and Ross Cooper choreographer/director of The
Curve Foundation dance company.
In the past 5 years I have gained significant dance- teaching experience
including the Duke of Edinburgh award and working for Starlight Dance
Studio, Dunfermline, Stepping Out School Of Dance, Edinburgh, Edinburgh
leisure and Eden Court, Inverness. In 2008 I gained a first class
honours degree in Dance through Edinburgh’s Telford College. In April
2009 I established a community dance organisation known as Dance In
Action. Working as a Dance Artist is both rewarding and challenging and
something I’ve been working towards since I attended my very first dance
class aged five. I offer classes to both children (upwards of age 3
years) and adults. Presently these classes are available in Beauly, Muir
of Ord, and Dingwall. However, it is my intention from August 2010 to
offer classes in both Alness and Drumnadrochit. Currently, dance styles
available include the following: Dance Exercise; Aerobic Funk; Zumba;
Street Jazz Funk; Contemporary; Ballet; Tap; Modern and Hip Hop and I’m
hoping , in the future, to broaden this repertoire. For further info
